My First Blog Post!

Blog Central
Writing a blog should be easy.  The spam I received said "everybody is doing it".   I am smarter and more technically capable than at least some of the "everybody" so I can do this.   I also heard blogging is on any good bucket list.  With time marching on, seems I need to get on this blog thing right now.   As a highly successful business executive, I know the way to start any project is seek advice from someone with a clue.   However, since "everyone" is already blogging, if I ask for advice from someone, they will know right away that I am the last person to join "everyone".   My skin is way too
thin for others to know I am the last one to join the blogging party so I need to work this out on my own.
About.com is such a great resource.  They have the Top 10 Tips for Beginning Bloggers -- its all about me.

Tip 1:  Define Your Goals.   Really?  Doesn't defining goals require real thought and introspection?   I'm not doing that.  This blog will be pointless, goalless and likely abandoned after I figure out how to post a note.
Tip 2:  Know Your Audience:   Simple, that's me.   I have been on Twitter for about a year and have no followers.  I am sure this will be the same.   The good news is I can write anything I want.  I can let out my inner me and be mean, insulting, petty and small.   Why not, right -- nobody will see it.   Blog as therapy -- this will save a buck or two.   Back to tip 1:  My first goal: save money.
Tip 3:  Be Consistent:   Easily done.  If there is only one blog post, it will be completely consistent with itself -- dead on target with my audience and it will meet my limited goals and expectations.
Tip 4:  Be Persistent:  Dream on.   Frequent updates?   No way, I have writers block already from this pressure.
Tip 5:  Be Inviting:  Done!  Comment feature turned on.   Everyone is invited in to the party.   If nobody shows up, they all suck.
Tip 6:  Be Visible:  Extremely.  I am sure people will gravitate to such a sweet URL.
Tip 7:  Take Risks:   Huh.   I don't get it.  Adding a "plug-in" is taking a risk?   To me, going on a Match.com or jumping out of an airplane is taking a risk.   Not blog widgeting.
Tip 8:  Ask for Help:  No thank you.   I ruled that out in advance.  Add a new goal:  know everything about blogging so I dont need to ask for help.
Tip 9:  Keep Learning:  After this note is posted, learning is done.
Tip 10:  Be Yourself:  O.   Not sure I can do that.
OK, I am ready to post -- if this shows up on the web, I am officially an excellent blogger.
